News! Lavender Cooking Workshops at Upcoming US Lavender Growers Conference

September 30, 2024 By Nancy Baggett Leave a Comment

Good News! I’ll be teaching two fun and informative classes on cooking with lavender at the January 23-25, 2025 US Lavender Growers’ Conference in St. Louis, MO.  The theme is “Easy Entertaining with Lavender.”  If you’re attending the Conference, I hope you’ll come a little early and take one or both of these workshops. The afternoon session would be a fab kick-off for the  Conference.

I’m teaming up with Tina Schooler, who will cover cocktails and mocktails.  In the morning, I’ll be demonstrating a variety of brunch dishes, including Brunch Parfaits, Lavender Baked French Toast and Lavender-Glazed Ham and Pineapple Slices. My afternoon recipes  will feature Baked Brie (two ways), Lavender Zippy Lavender-Ginger Chicken Wings, and my totally irresistible Caramelized Lavender-Spice Pecans. (Nobody can eat just one–really!) Of course, we’ll be giving out samples of everything we make.

If you’ve been eager to get up to speed on cooking with 2024’s trendiest ingredient, culinary lavender, this is your chance!  Click on the link and scroll down to our Culinary Workshops listing to sign up: https://www.uslavender.org/uslc-2025#Pre-Con

The snapshot below shows me getting ready for a cooking class at National Public Radio’s Sound Bites Café. Lots of tastings, which  were a hit! Here’s what my host had to say about my class: “Such a great class that you gave. Really spectacular. So much knowledge, so well organized and so generous with your tastings. It was simply amazing. Again thank you, thank you, thank you!”

These two fun and informative classes showcase how to create lavender-infused cocktails like the pros and an array of lavender appetizers that will pair best with your event, the first focusing on brunches and the second on cocktail parties  – and anything in between.

Each session will concentrate on recipes, tastings, ideas, and helpful tips on planning, organizing, and hosting the perfect gathering suitable for enjoying at home or any lavender event.

• A mini cocktail kit with recipes to take home so you can continue honing your new fabulous skills.

Welcome to KitchenLane! It’s a comfortable place where I create, thoroughly test, and photograph recipes for my cookbooks and blog. All my recipes are original, not adaptations from others. I trained as a pastry chef, so many offerings are desserts and baked goods. Some are also healthful, savory dishes I contribute to healthy eating publications. My recipes are always free of artificial dyes, flavorings, and other iffy additives, which I won’t serve my family—or you! Instead, dishes feature naturally flavorful, colorful ingredients including fresh herbs, berries, edible flowers, and fruits, many from my own suburban garden or local farmers’ markets. Since lots of readers aspire to write cookbooks, I also blog on recipe writing and editing and other helpful publishing how-to info accumulated while authoring nearly 20 well-received cookbooks over many years.
